Deleted Scenes - Canceled "NO MAN'S LAND"-ysh Bat-cartoon

While a...errr...disputable new Batman cartoon will start in fall next year, Beware The Batman, featuring a unique Bat-team and unusual direction, did ya know we almost got an entirely different product?

With Batman: The Brave and The Bold ending, Warner Bros had various studios pitch a new Bat-centric cartoon.
Amongst them was a Bat-family show inspired by the DC Comics story arc "No Man's Land"...

It seems it would have featured the whole Pre-Batman Reborn family; Batman!Bruce Wayne, Catwoman, Nightwing, Robin!Damian Wayne or Tim Drake and making her animated debut Batgirl!Cassandra Cain.

He says:
"So James the Terrifically talented Tucker producer of “The Brave and Bold” series was starting work on the new Bat show and decided to take a chance on the new guy….Me! So I became character designer. I was floored as shit and had a ton of ideas for the darknight and fellers so I spent about 4 or 5 monthes cranking out a ton of of batty shizz! I did way more than any man should ever do and worked sometimes two nights straight without sleep on that stuff.

This is the sucky part> Even though all of the heads at Cartoon Network liked the designs one felt the premise (more of a “no mans land”) was too dark and grim so they scrapped it."

Aww man...
Looks like the perfect Batman cartoon I've always dreamed about...

  1. Man, what I wouldn't give for a Bat cartoon that drew from some more modern stories. Beware the Batman seems like it's trying to go back to the roots with the whole detective thing. That's dandy, but the Batman mythos has really produced some amazing stories in the last 15-20 years that deserve to be animated.

    1. Yeah, I still wish we could someday get a "Bat-family" kind of show...
